The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. Let’s change the tune for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 22, 2025 - team up, fundraise, and walk with us!
The Skills Centre is a non-profit whose mission is strengthening rural and industrial communities and workplaces through workforce skills development, training services, social development and poverty reduction programming.
The Skills Centre has a long history of providing innovative and transformative community programming especially in support of youth, women, immigrants, newcomers and people living with low-income. We also provide regional poverty reduction programming in partnership with five local municipalities.
Our poverty reduction work includes operating Community Kitchens, running the affordable housing directory, ending working poverty, and offering bursaries to women and graduating high school students living with low income.
We work with several community organizations to support those living in poverty. We will use the funds to continue our poverty reduction work and donate a portion to poverty reduction initiatives in the community.
