It's cold out there. The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk that raises money for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in our community. Walk with us on February 22, 2020!
The Red Door Family Shelter has been providing shelter and support for homeless women and families in Toronto since 1982. Sadly family homelessness mostly affects moms and their children, and over 60% of the residents at our shelter each night are children. Each year we help over 350 families, with families staying at the shelter for an average of 5 months before moving to a home of their own.
The Coldest Night of the Year event is a special way for our community to come together in solidarity and support of homeless families. Walk with us and together we can help women who are fleeing violence at home, families affected by a housing crisis such as eviction, and newcomers and refugees with nowhere else to go.
Join us for a breezy walk through the heart of Leslieville and right past our new family shelter which is scheduled to open in Spring 2020.
