It's cold out there. The Coldest Night of the Year is a covid-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Walk with us virtually or in-person on February 20, 2021 – there’s a place for everyone!

About Choices for Youth

With the right supports, at-risk youth find stability, not another new place to sleep. Young parents find independence, not isolation and uncertainty. Youth caught in the system find healthy transitions to adulthood.

Choices for Youth has served thousands of youth since opening our doors in 1990. We strive to reach those in need, and to serve those we work with more effectively, in concert with the support systems available across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Your participation helps at-risk and homeless youth in our community. Walk with us on Saturday, February 20th!

Event Day Details

Save the date - Event Day is February 20, 2021!

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk that raises money for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in our community.

Everything is Outdoors!

Because of covid, the event this year must be outside from beginning to end without exception. This includes:

  • Walker Check-In
  • Toque Pick-up
  • Walker Send-Off
  • Rest Stop

Other key things of note this year:

  • Toques: Walkers who raise $150+ (or $75+ for those under 18) will receive a CNOY toque as a thank you!
  • Registration: The registration fee is no more! Everyone is welcome to come and support their local CNOY charity
  • Washroom facilities: Walkers should be prepared for no washroom facility access during the outside event.
  • Post-event meal: There will be no traditional post-event meal this year. Instead, participants will receive a loot bag when they complete their walk.
  • Cash + cheques: We will not be processing these on CNOY Day, please login to Fundhub to pay off your cash and cheque pledges online

Schedule

Keep an eye on this page - we’ll be posting the socially-distanced walk times in early February, along with a more detailed event day plan.
