About Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold

The Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold Program provides safe refuge, warm hospitality and emergency shelter in York Region to the homeless or those in need of food/clothing.

Overnight shelters are operated by various interfaith communities on different nights of the week from November to March.

Despite popular belief, homelessness can affect anyone regardless of age, ethnicity or status. It is not just a problem affecting drug users or alcoholics but anyone can face poverty and homelessness during difficult financial hardships. Out of the Cold has improved the lives of many who find themselves on the street during difficult times. An Out of the Cold guest once told one of the volunteers, "I feel like I'm with family when I come here.”

Walk with us on Feb 20th, 2021, or because it is virtual, anytime in February!! Please help us raise funds to continue serving those at risk in our region!

About Blue Door

The largest emergency housing provider in York Region, Blue Door supports people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness to attain and retain affordable housing.

Youth, men, and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness come from a variety of backgrounds and face challenging life circumstances including job loss, eviction, mental illnesses, and much more.

To meet the unique needs of vulnerable individuals, Blue Door offers 3 emergency housing locations, second stage housing to provide longer-term supports, and job training through Construct.

Your support is vital in saving the lives of vulnerable youth, men, and families in your community.

Virtual CNOY Day

This is your own self-organized micro-walk! Virtual CNOY Day should feel pretty familiar once you get walking - here are some key things you'll need to do on February 20 (or whatever day in February you decide to walk):

  • Gather with your covid-safe bubble (or on your own)
  • Map out a safe 2-5 km route
  • Let someone know where you are
  • Bring a cell phone in case of emergency
  • Share online as you go! #cnoy21
  • Keep fundraising (half of all fundraising happens in the last week!)
  • Be safe and have fun!
