The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Team up, walk, and fundraise! It’s cold out there... but there’s no place like home.
CFY works with youth 5-19 years old within our Mentorship Service, evening programming for youth ages 12-19, and transportation to youth ages 12-19 from 1-5pm for attending appointments, school, etc., as well as transportation to all of our evening programming. Mentorship is on a weekly-monthly basis for 1-4 hours a week where youth and mentors work in developing healthier ways of dealing with anger, developing healthy boundaries, and increasing self-esteem, while assisting youth to move away from their high-risk lifestyles. CFY is committed to building stronger positive connections as well as provide new skills and supports to the youth. Youth will assist in making decisions and make choices on what the goals/outcomes are. Connection is something we need right now more than ever. Youth engagement levels are currently quite low. CFY’s services are unique as we are free of cost without long referrals, wait times, and were developed in the Battlefords for the Battlefords.
While we are a virtual event this year, on February 26 we will have warm drinks and yummy snacks available between 4-7pm at our office: 1361 101st Street, North Battleford. Take some photos and post about where you walked!
