The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
Island Crisis Care Society (ICCS) is a registered, non-profit society that operates in the Nanaimo and Oceanside areas. Throughout our 9 housing sites and 14 programs, we provide supports to over 375 people daily.
Our aim it to offer more than 'just' shelter. We provide clients with a wide range of supports for their growth and development; to not just survive, but to help them thrive! From crisis shelter to supportive housing through to rent subsidies, our goal is to have a complete spectrum of care.
This year, funds raised through the Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk will go to support our community-based programs that provide essential skill-building for our clients. Topics such as healthy eating; literacy; art therapy; job readiness training; communication; and cultural learnings continue to have a major impact on our clients journey to independence.
Walk with us on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 and let's show Nanaimo that we care about our community!
