About Gravenhurst Against Poverty

Gravenhurst Against Poverty (G.A.P.) is a group of concerned citizens who work with community members of Gravenhurst to help reduce the effects that poverty has on people living here. We provide 400 people with weekly home cooked meals, and fresh fruit and vegetables. We have reaped great benefits from many G.A.P. gardens this year with the amazing donations from businesses, schools and churches! Our volunteers do too much to list!

We are constantly expanding and connecting people to other services within our community to help people reduce their burdens! We have a Mental Health group offering a Compassion Series. Our Transportation Team partners with a local taxi company to help people get to where they need to go. G.A.P. advisory council discusses what services are available to the Gravenhurst Area and what it is lacking.....

We need everyone's help to keep growing.

Virtual CNOY Day

This is your own self-organized micro-walk! Virtual CNOY Day should feel pretty familiar once you get walking - here are some key things you'll need to do on February 20 (or whatever day in February you decide to walk):

  • Gather with your covid-safe bubble (or on your own)
  • Map out a safe 2-5 km route
  • Let someone know where you are
  • Bring a cell phone in case of emergency
  • Share online as you go! #cnoy21
  • Keep fundraising (half of all fundraising happens in the last week!)
  • Be safe and have fun!
