About Wilmot Family Resource Centre

For the past 40 years, Wilmot Family Resource Centre has been a leading provider of social services to individuals and families in our rural Wilmot and Wellesley Townships.

WFRC is a multi-service agency that sees and feels the needs of our community. We know the unique challenges of providing support services to residents in rural areas, and we strive to make it better.

CNOY helps to ensure that Wilmot Family Resource Centre can continue to provide important and sustaining supports for people in our community long into the future, because this is our home, and these are our neighbors.

Event Day Details

Save the date - CNOY Day is February 26, 2022!

Self-organize your own local team and join us virtually on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Our fundraising goal is $25,000! We need YOU to join as a team captain and/or walker to help us reach this goal. You can begin recruiting team members and raising funds immediately.

Start

Covid-related health risks won't permit us to assemble in large groups this year, so instead we will gather together safely, self-organizing individually or in smaller, covid-friendly teams as permitted. You can select your own safe walk route of 2km or 5km near home at a time convenient for you.

When planning your route, stick to these tips to make it safe:

  • Keep well-used sidewalks in mind - snow might not be removed evenly on those smaller side streets.
  • Look for the light - streetlights will guide your way!
  • Create your path in a route that ends up back at point A, or plan to be picked up at your final destination. A hot coffee at the end might be a welcomed treat!

Important Notes

Take Good Photos!

We'd love to see and share your photos on our social media. Be sure to take pictures wearing your CNOY toque and send them to info@wilmotfamilyresourcecentre.ca. Go on... you look perfectly lovely!

You can also use the hashtags #CNOY22 and #WFRC on your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts.

Toque Pick-Up Times

Walkers who raise $150+ (adults 18 and over) or $75 (children/youth 17 and under) will receive the coveted golden CNOY22 toque as trophy of triumph!

  • The first 85 champions that register to walk in the name of WRFC will receive a special thank you bag, curated with love by local supporters and volunteers that think you're great.
  • We'll set up in the back parking lot of the WFRC office to socially-distanced-celebrate with you while you stay warm and toasty in your car. Dates for pick up are:
  • Saturday February 19th, 10 am to 1 pm
  • Saturday February 26th, 10 am to 12 pm
  • Team Captains are encouraged to come and pick up all items for their whole team, in order to cut down on traffic and contact when possible. Please let us know if your walkers are coming on their own, so we can have things packaged individually!

Have questions? Visit our FAQ section!

Virtual CNOY Day

This is your own self-organized walk! Here are some key things you'll need to do on February 26 (or whatever day in February you decide to walk):

  • Gather with your covid-safe bubble (or on your own)
  • Map out a safe 2-5 km route
  • Let someone know where you are
  • Bring a cell phone in case of emergency
  • Share online as you go! #cnoy22
  • Keep fundraising (half of all fundraising happens in the last week!)
  • Be safe and have fun!
