Food for Life (FFL) supplies food to over 80 different food banks and food relief agencies in Halton. Collaborative to the core, FFL works with local food wholesaleser, farmers and grocery stores to help distribute excess dairy, meat, produce and bread to those in need. We run over 40 volunteer led pop up food banks on site at local churches, community centres and community housing to ensure those in need are able to access fresh food right in their own neighbourhoods.
Hunger in our community is unacceptable. It is difficult to imagine that 1 in 10 children will go to bed without a meal tonight. Hunger does not discriminate. FFL serves children, seniors who are on a fixed income, people on disability benefits and people who are employed but still can't seem to get ahead. With the number of people relying on food banks , community dinners and our outreach pop-up food banks increasing - we must work together to answer the need of hunger in our community
