About Central Alberta Youth Unlimited/YFC
According to The National Youth Homelessness Survey, "Young people aged 13-24 make up about 20% of those experiencing homelessness in Canada.” That is approximately 35,000-40,000 young people a year and 6,000-7,000 who are looking for a safe place to sleep tonight.
Let that sink in for a minute.
I don’t know about you, but this information makes me want to take action, and be a part of changing this statistic.
Central Alberta Youth Unlimited and Challenger program exists to eliminate just this. Challenger is a personal and skill development program for young people who are hoping to transition into an independent living situation, but require support, education and encouragement to become holistically healthy, fully independent, community contributors. By taking a preventative approach, we are working to reduce the lifelong consequence of youth homelessness.
By joining our campaign to raise $55,000, you can be part of ensuring youth in our community have the supports they need to step beyond homelessness.
